A collection of writings

My first post: “The Emergence”

The word I chose for 2025 is Emergence.

It mirrors the Citrinitas or “yellowing” stage of alchemy. The phase after cleansing and stillness, but before the final stage of radiance. I imagine Citrinitas as the moment just after a phoenix is born, when the first glimpse of light shows through the ash.

I’ve followed my course of disintegration, watching the life I once knew burn away to make space for the reconstruction of the life I now know I deserve. As I tiptoe into this second chance at life, I find myself picking up the pieces of my fragmented soul and carefully studying each one before puzzling them back together.

Many of you have followed my journey through social media and complimented the vulnerability I’ve shown while sharing my victories and grievances. The writer in me wants to continue digging into the depths of my feelings to uncover what many are afraid to share themselves. So today, I dedicate this space to the full spectrum of emotion, especially the ones we’re taught to hide.

My first few posts will explore the weight of suicidal ideation and grief as I’ve experienced them in my own mental health journey. Not everyone will resonate with this type of pain, but I invite you to spend time looking through my own lens shaped by lived experience, personality, and trauma in hopes that it brings greater understanding to what others around you may silently carry.

May we all continue mending, reimagining, and creating.

Sincerely,
Vera Lynn
